If I am up that late, I usually have something sweet, like a cookie.
If i’m up that late and there are cookies available I’m going to be in trouble.
I would say chocolate chip cookies! Thank you for the giveaway and the recipe!
Chocolate Chip Cookies are one of my very favorites!
A bowl of milk & crackers.
What the What?! I gotta hear more about this!
My favorite midnight snack is Doritos.
Oh Yum! Doritos always take me back to High School and my ridiculous geek parties!
Great review thank you, the recipe sounds good too. For a midnight snack I like a sugar free Popsicle,
Penney
That sounds very smart!
I don’t often snack at midnight, but when I do, it’s usually a slice of cheese. I loved the first book in this series and can’t wait for this one!
I could seriously live on bread and cheese if i could eat it without, you know, dying.
My favorite midnight snack is ice cream.
Ice cream is a great anytime snack! Definitely one of my top 3 favorites.
I’m sound a sleep at midnight.
LOL. It’s 30 minutes after Midnight as i write this. Thank God I don’t have any of these snacks in my house right now!
I like to have a plate of pepperoni and cheese.
Such a South Jersey choice. My husband grew up eating Pepperoni and Cheese as one of his favorite snacks.
I’m on a cinnamon poptart kick right now. I think I can’t sleep without eating one. I thinkTthe sugar works better than all the stuff I take for my pain. Thank you so much for this chance at the giveaway. Such a great title for the book.
I agree with you about the sugar for the pain. I eat peanut m&m’s before bed
Pop Tarts are starting to haunt me. It was bad enough when they were just Frosted. But now they have Milkshake and Sundae flavors. I had to take one of my emergency gluten pills a couple of months ago because of an “Emergency Pop Tart Situation.”
Sounds great.
They are very yummy!
It would depend on my mood but chocolate or potato chips would be my favorite midnight snack.
Next time, try dipping the potato chips in the chocolate!
I have several.. I love cheeseballs.. but they are my red flag food.. I can eat the whole bag in one sitting and not even realize it.. so chips and salsa would be my next one. Yummmm
I’m with you on the cheesy poufs. I love me some Cheetos.
Favorite midnight snack would be cookies
I’m always in the mood for some homemade cookies.
I keep a box of ice cream bars in freezer for a sweet attack.
I wish Halo Top would come out with an ice cream bar.
I don’t snack at midnight. I do have some water if I am up. Boring, I know,
Thanks Linda. 😀
My favorite midnight snack is peanut butter — if I’m up at midnight, it’s usually because I can’t sleep, and for some reason, the peanut butter helps me sleep ~ The Butterscotch Bars look amazing — I can’t wait to make them!
Peanut butter is a weakness of mine. It’s one of the things in my “allowed” category. I hope you love the butterscotch bars.
Both the Books and recipe look yummy.
Thank you Carol!
My favorite midnight snack is sometimes something salty like chips, crackers, but other times it is anything sweet. I’m diversified. Thanks for including Libby Klein and her book Midnight Snack are Murder on your blog.
Thanks Robin, I like to mix my salty and sweet together.
Frozen grapes. Always hits the spot: cold and sweet, satisfies like italian ice. ?
Thanks Robin, I I’ll have to try those some time.
Ensure…I put it in the freezer to get it a bit slushy, then shake it up good, like a milk shake..
Great idea Sheryl!
Oatmeal raisin cookies. Thanks for the chance. Maceoindo(at)yahoo(dot)com
Oatmeal raisin cookies were my grandfather’s favorite. I used to make a batch every Christmas for him.
Always turns out to be something bad for me like chips.
No one wants to eat kale at midnight.
My favorite midnight snack would probably be a cookie preferably one with chocolate.
Definitely with chocolate! Or those little ones with the jam centers. Yum.
Home baked treats are the best, but otherwise a couple of Oreo salted caramel thins with a glass of milk.
I’ve never even heard of those Cheryl!
My favorite midnight snack is anything crunchy!
I like my cookies crunchy.

I love ice cream! Remember vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s syrup? Yum!

Thank you Daryl. I hope you love the cookies and the books!
Those look amazing!
Kim does an amazing job! I think her bars look better than mine did!
My midnight snack is usually around 2 – 3 AM. I work night shift so that is my actual lunch.
I can’t even imagine how hard that must be.
I don’t snack after I go to bed about 10:30, but in the evening I do like to have a Popsicle.
My granddaughters would live on popcicles if i’d let them.
I am not a midnight snacker, never have been. Probably because I get more than enough snacks during the day and evening.
I hope you mid-day snacks are something yummy!
My favorite midnight snack is whatever I can find to munch on. Thank you for a chance to win a print copy Midnight Snacks Are Murder
Thank you Cathy. Good luck!
I love scones! Thanks for the chance to win!

Something salty, like chips or chex mix.
i love those chocolate peanut butter muddy buddies you make out of chex mix.
I try not to eat anything after dinner
Very wise.
My favorite midnight snack is either leftovers or cereal. It depends what’s available for me to have.
At first, i read that as leftover cereal. LOL. Good luck in the drawing!
The recipe sounds delicious. Cheese and crackers for a snack.
I never met a cheese i didn’t like. So good!
The recipe sounds delicious. Cheese and crackers for a snack at midnight.
I love anything chocolate.
Mmm. Me too!
I like the idea of making these…even gluten-free they look and sound scrumptious! I have a friend whose son is Celiac…so I try to have something like this or homemade ice cream when they visit.
They are delicious. Make sure you get certified Gluten Free Oats!
Oh my goodness!
Three sticks of butter?!!!They must taste mighty good.
Julia Child once said, “If you’re afraid of using butter, you can use cream.”
PS – That’s not a substitution for this recipe – cream won’t work here.
Thank you for the recipe, book review abd giveaway. It depends on what I have on hand Peanut M&MS, Cheetos, Cheesecake, Chocolate Cake.
If you have all that on hand, I’m coming to your house for snacks!
My favorite midnight snack is ice cream. Thank you for the chance!
Ice cream is always a good choice.
I love those Crunchy Cheetos! Anything with cheese. Popcorn, Poufs, Pretzels, Crackers. I have a problem.
Crunchy Cheetos have been my downfall many times! Best salty snack ever 🙂
Will try this one!!!
They are so yummy! I hope you love them!
My late night Earl am snacks all depend on if I had a filling dinner or if I ate very early that night. So if I’m really hungry I’ll have crackers and peanut butter and if not hungry but just wanting something, it’s most often ice cream or sorbet. I often have fruit however especially in peach season. Sliced up with a little sugar fits all requirements of a healthier but sweet snack.
Thank you.
Cynthia
Great answer Cynthia!
Since I get up at 4 am there is no midnight snack time, LOL. In the evening I do like Sherbet if we have it in the house, or I usually have frozen pretzels that I will cook up.
I miss pretzels.
I am usually not a late night/early AM snacker but if I want something my new favorite is a trail butter my husband found for when he does really long hikes – it’s dark chocolate and coffee flavored or maple and sea salt – YUM! A partial spoon of that goes a loooong way and it’s fairly healthy!
We are gf (celiac) so LOVE new gf recipes!
Amanda, I’m going to have to look for this trail butter! It sounds delicious. All my recipes in the back of the books are Gluten Free and some are even Paleo. Good luck!
Usually something salty like chips
Thanks Carol!
Peanut M&Ms are perfect any time of day or night.
I can’t even buy peanut M&Ms they are so addicting!
Cheese and crackers
Great choice Judy!
Years (and years ago) my Daddy & I would have sardines & cheddar cheese on saltines. He drove a truck and would be gone 2 1/2 – 3 days usually coming home middle of the night. I would often still be up reading, so we would have this snack before we headed off to bed.
Now-a-days, chocolate or potato chips, or both is my mid-night snack.
These Oatmeal Butterscotch Bars sound very good. I don’t need to go the gluten-free route, but I need to make these soon.
That’s a lovely story, Donna. I hope you love the recipe.
milk and pretzels are my favorite midnight snack. Have not had them in a while….hum maybe tomorrow night….
Reading Kim’s Blog is making me hungry for so many snacks!
Looking thru my blog photos makes me hungry ALL the time 🙂 An occupational hazard, lol!
I like to indulge in dark chocolate with almonds or hazelnuts
Great Choice Sue. I also love a little sea salt on my chocolate with almonds.
I love chocolate!!!
I do too!
I love sweet and/or salty, but I will have to say that I love cookies or bars because they are a way to indulge and still have portion control. 🙂
It’s always nachos! These bars look heavenly! Just in time because I’m going back to being GF. It’s so hard in my house as there is ALWAYS tons of fresh baked bread. Yes, GF bread can be good, but it’s never AS good. *sigh. These bars might help ease the pain though. =)
I never snack at midnight but if I did it’d be whatever I could get.
I’m on low carb/low sugar,so if I snack then ,it’s usually cheese or nuts.
Chocolate iced brownies and sour cream and onion potato chips. Sweet and salty. Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite snack is leftovers!
I try with every ounce of my being not to snack late but if I do it’s almost always cereal.
